Detox. Rejuvenate. Glow.

      For many years one of my must morning rituals has been lemon water. And I can’t recommend it enough. It has proved to be an easy and quick ritual for better health. Not to mention that it never gets boring as there are so many different ways to make it.

Clearly, there isn’t one way that fits everybody. I would like to share my long years’ love story with this morning beauty drink.

We all live in the real life of practicalities. You should be healthy and happy remaining many years as such. Therefore, I’m sharing this as I call “Elixir of Longevity”. 

First of all, you will need the base – water. I believe it should be the cleanest and purest water that you can possibly have. Simply, because 70% of you (your body) is water. And no matter how much you keep thinking of protein, discussing if you should have it animal-based or plant-based. Water matters the most. This time I will stop the discussion here. But I promise to go into details about water in one of the next posts.

Once you have got the cleanest water. You’ve got to decide what temperature is it going to be warm, room temperature or cold. I suggest to try all options and keep re-trying frequently.

For example, the season you’re in as people tend to like warmer or room temperature water when it’s colder, opposite to cold water in warmer seasons. Personally, I enjoy room temperature water all year round. Your body’s individuality is going to play a role. Trust your inner feeling to guide you. too.

A pint?! Isn’t that half a liter (0,5 liter =16.9 ounces) ?! Yes, I encourage you to have a lot of water right after you wake up before even thinking of any food. It will help to flash the internal body as you do for your skin when having morning showers. Take it as a wake-up kick inside out. Just a friendly warning, the awesome feeling after morning showers is addictive 🙂

Moving on! You’ve got a pint of the cleanest water in the right temperature, perfect! Now you should add freshly squeezed lemon juice from half or a whole ripe lemon. I suggest you start with a half and see how it feels for your taste and stomach.  Years back I was using half a lemon. Nowadays I enjoy a full lemon squeezed into my very own special morning glass 🙂

This health elixir never gets boring!

There are plenty of recipes that will keep your taste buds excited at all times.
  • Classy:
½ or 1 ripe lemon juice freshly squeezed into a big glass of pure water. Voila!
  • Sassy:
½ or 1 ripe lemon juice freshly squeezed into a big glass of pure water mixed with ¼ teaspoon of Ceylon cinnamon and ½ teaspoon of raw honey.
  • Warm-hearted:
½ or 1 ripe lemon juice freshly squeezed into a big glass of pure water mixed with ¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper.
  • Chilled:
½ or 1 ripe lemon juice freshly squeezed into a big glass of pure water mixed with 5-10 leaves of fresh mint.
Place leaves in your palms and claps your hands. Bruising leaves will help induce the mint flavor. Drop leaves into the glass. Add lemon and water. Mix well.
